Drive Through Downtown To See “Lewisburg in Lights”

Lewisburg in Lights is a collaboration between Campus Theatre, Community Zone, Lewisburg Downtown Partnership and several business owners and Lewisburg residents.  This year we are working to light up the dark as winter sets in and this rather dark year is coming to an end.  We have plans to decorate the meters as we make parking free again from Thanksgiving through New Year’s.  We are lighting up the lamp posts and working to add a bit more decoration in the baskets.  We have plans to light up our usual trees – but also to professionally decorate two trees so we can all see what it could look like if we take this project to the next level. We are working on various light displays in and around Hufnagle Park – with a fun, photo op display to be located at the gazebo.

We believe that this new endeavor will bring people to our downtown to see what we are doing and enjoy the light displays.  Some will stop in to shop and eat.  Others may see a store they didn’t remember and call or go online to order products as we promote SHOP LOCAL!

Downtown Lewisburg Safely Re-Opens

In collaboration with the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership and local small business Creature Feature Design, the SBDC created two videos featuring ways retailers and restaurants are enacting CDC and PA Department of Health guidance to keep their employees and customers safe as they reopen.

A Statement From Downtown Lewisburg

The Lewisburg Downtown Partnership was created to ensure that downtown Lewisburg remained the heart and soul of Lewisburg, as such we find it imperative that we publicly acknowledge the suffering we are going through as a nation.

The LDP commits to doing all we can to create constructive spaces where justice and peace can flourish.  We must work harder towards encouraging a racially and culturally diverse local business community.

Our vision of having downtown Lewisburg be the cultural and economic magnet for the region greatly depends on us,  the business community, to cultivate diversity of thought and provide space for all races, ages, and genders in our town.

We have much work to do in this country, and indeed in our own community, to acknowledge and shift a legacy begun hundreds of years ago.  The LDP is a community non-profit organization that condemns racism in all of its forms.  We recognize that we must do better and we are committed to that effort.  While we offer these words of assurance and support, we recognize that our actions going forward must speak to our sincere promise.  As we approach the hard work of creating our next 5 year strategic plan we commit to exploring and implementing what we can do as an organization to foster this process in our community.
