The Campus Theater
What a treasure! The Campus Theater, located in the heart of downtown Lewisburg, is one of the few remaining single screen Art Deco movie palaces in the country.
Combining first run movies with an energetic schedule of special presentations and private functions, the Campus Theater provides a very special brand of entertainment to the region.
The Sigmund & Claire Weis Center for the Performing Arts
The Weis Center on the campus of Bucknell University certainly serves as one of Lewisburg’s crown jewels. The architecturally striking, nationally recognized and acoustically exceptional performance hall brings Lincoln Center caliber performances at central PA prices and plays host to world-renowned artists in music, dance, and theater, and serves as well for lectures, convocations, and other functions. The lobby, which features a signature majestic open staircase, is home to a collection of watercolors by artist David Armstrong.
The Samek Art Museum
Bucknell University’s Samek Art Museum has two beautiful exhibit spaces, the Samek Gallery in the Langone Center of the University, and the Downtown Gallery at 416 Market Street, and hosts regular exhibits and arts events. For information on current exhibits, visit the website.
The Lewisburg Arts Council
The Lewisburg Arts Council is a group of dedicated volunteers that bring incredible arts offerings to Lewisburg, including their three major events: Celebration of the Arts in April; the Sidewalk Chalk Festival in July; and Stroll through the Arts Weekend in November.
In addition to the Weis Center and the Samek Gallery, Bucknell University offers diverse live musical, dance and drama performances in several other venues throughout the year, including the popular Bucknell Jazz Series. Check the website for dates and times.
